FOSTER HOMES DESPERATELY NEEDED!!!
Age: none
Sex: male neutered
You may have noticed that our adoptions are up. We have been able to find loving homes for so many of the dogs that we've rescued. In fact, many times there are so many applications for a single dog that it's difficult to choose the most ideal home.
The first step in rescuing these deserving dogs is to have foster homes where they can stay until the perfect adoptive home is found for them. We are contacted daily by many shelters in the area begging us to take a dog whose time has run out. Our ability to do this depends on our having a foster home available. So many of them have to be let go because of our lack of foster homes. You've seen many of the beautiful dogs on this site. There are many others that we've had to turn down because we have nowhere to house them.
We have a wonderful family of foster moms and dads ready to lend you support when needed, there just aren't enough of us for the number of dogs who need our help. Please find it in your heart to open your home to a dog in need. This selfless act can be one of the most gratifying things you'll ever do.
If you have room in your heart and in your home for one more, please contact Eva...

Sex: female spayed
HEARTWORM POSITIVE ROSIE NEEDS HELP
UPDATE 4/22/08 - Hello to all my friends! I have been through a very rough time and am now feeling much better, well enough to thank everyone for what they've done for me. I got pneumonia and was so sick. I could hardly breathe. I was in the hospital for three days. There was no more that could be done for me there, so I was sent home. The doctor told Mommy I was a candidate for sudden death because I was "throwing clots". I don't even know what that is, but I was doing it. If one of those clots went to the wrong place, I would die instantly. Mommy had to make me stay in a crate all alone because I couldn't be excited at all. I couldn't see any other dogs and especially no cats because they really excite me. Mommy would come into my room a few times a day to feed me and make sure I had fresh water, and she would hold me for a little while. I loved that, but it wasn't enough, and I was very sad. This lasted for almost a week till I went back to the doctor again. The doctor was surprised to see me looking so good. I think he was surprised to see me at all. Now I'm still in the crate sometimes, but I'm back with everyone else, and I can be out of the crate a lot of time also, so life is good again.
I couldn't believe all the letters I got. They were from all over, even some from people in other states. One was from across the country in a place called New Jersey. I'd never even heard of any Jersey, new or old, yet someone there knew all about me! Everyone was sending me good wishes, some people said they were praying for me, and some sent donations. I want to thank all of you. I wouldn't have made it without all of the help you gave me. I am very humbled by the outpouring of love.
I still have a long ways to go before I'm well. In a few months I'll have my final heartworm test. Assuming I'm negative at that time (more good wishes, please!), I will then have to have surgery. I'll have to be spayed, I have an ugly hernia that will be fixed, and there are some other problems as well, but Mommy assures me that they will all be fixed one by one. I may be Beagle Rescue's largest project ever because there are so many things wrong with me, but one day I will be a healthy beagle girl, and I am very much looking forward to that day.
Thank you again for all of your help. I still have to ask for donations because there is so much more to do for me yet, but more than anything else I want to express my gratitude for all that has been done so far. This world is full of very good people, and it is my privilege to know so many of you. Thank you.
Hi, Friends. I am hoping I have some very good friends out there. My name is Rosie, and I'm the next charity case here in Beagleland. I wasn't born to be a charity case. I was born to be a pampered beagle girl like the ones you've adopted, but I wasn't as lucky as they are. I was in a family that neglected me my entire life. I'm about seven years old and have suffered seven years of neglect.
I have had numerous litters of puppies. When I became too old and had too many health issues to safely have more puppies, my people cast me aside. I don't know what would have become of me if the kind people here in Beagle Rescue hadn't taken me in. I'm now in a wonderful foster home and am treated with love and kindness for the first time in my life. However, I have some very serious problems to deal with.
To begin with, I am heartworm positive. I'll begin heartworm treatment in a few days. This is very dangerous, and I'll have to be crated for a long time. I'll get potty breaks, but that's about it. Mommy has a lot of experience taking care of heartworm dogs, so I am putting my life in her hands and in the hands of the doctor. Assuming I survive the heartworm treatment, they will then begin working on other issues one by one until I'm healthy again. I have a hernia, I need to be spayed, my ears have been infected my whole life to the point of causing them damage. It's a miracle I can still hear, but I can. They have a long list of things to do to me to make me well again.
Can you believe what I just said? "Assuming I survive the heartworm treatment", of course, I'm going to survive! There are now people who love me, so I have to survive. I'm looking forward to the day when I'll be able to run here with the other dogs and be healthy again. They have so much fun, but my fun will end when the heartworm treatment begins. I've had the treatment explained to me. It's very scary, but I'm going to be a brave girl and endure it. A lot of people are counting on me now, and I won't let them down.
Some people have questioned the wisdom of the rescue people taking in needy cases like mine, but I am so grateful that they do. They can only do this because of your help. All of my treatment will be very expensive, and what they receive from the adoptions of the other dogs won't begin to cover it, not even close. This is where I have to do what a proud girl like me doesn't want to do, and that is ask for your help. They have set up a special fund here called Rosie's Fund (I love the name!) and are asking for donations toward my treatment. Any amount you can give, large or small, would be more appreciated than you can imagine. It isn't fair that good people like you are paying for the neglect of people who weren't good people, but that's where I am at this point of my life. The rescue people feel that I'm worthy of another chance, and I'm hoping that you will, too.
During my treatment my exercise level will be very limited, but I will be able to answer any emails that are sent to me. If you'd like to know how I'm doing, please email me, and I'll let you know. It will make me feel that I'm not recovering alone. It will be very lonely in my crate all day. I have a very nice crate, but it's still a crate.
Thank you in advance for your generosity. I look forward to hearing from you. Donations to my care can be made via Paypal or checks made payable to

Bennie #3
Age: 5 1/2 yrs.
Sex: male neutered
Hi, my name is Bennie (#3). For the first half of my life, I was a medical research beagle and lived in a laboratory. I was then adopted by a family; but, unfortunately, they kept me in my crate most of the time. As a result, I gained too much weight and lost my lean, toned beagle body. However, I’ve been working hard to regain my handsome beagle-boy physique, and the results are evident. I’m proud to say that I’ve reduced my weight by ten pounds since I came into the Rescue. I can run again, and I can jump up on the couch and snuggle next to my foster mom! I still have a few more pounds to shed, but with continued exercise and the weight-loss diet, I should reach my goal soon.
I settled in very quickly at my foster home and learned to use the doggy door. I am completely housebroken, don’t have any destructive behaviors, and sleep in my crate. I am current on my shots, neutered, and am scheduled for a dental cleaning.
As a medical research dog, I was debarked. I can still bark but it’s not loud, and I don’t do it very often. I don’t even bark at the mailman. Since I didn’t have a normal, playful puppy life and lived in a laboratory, I never really learned to play. However, I love going for walks, I ride well in the car, and enjoy hanging out at the dog park. My foster mom thinks I am the sweetest, gentlest and most loving dog you’ll ever find. You will usually find me in the same room as my family.
I love a gentle ear and belly rub, and will soak up all of the love and attention bestowed on me. I am friendly to strangers and am disappointed when they don’t take the time to stop and pet me. I like being around other dogs — I’m neither dominant with them nor do I bark at them. Two cats live in my foster household, and I am friendly with them — I wouldn’t think of chasing them.
I would love to have a forever home that has either another dog to keep me company and/or a family member with a flexible schedule. A family with children ten or over would be great. If you’re looking for a quiet, sweet, loving companion, I’m your guy. The family that adopts me must continue assisting me in getting back to a healthy weight.
Please contact Elaine for more information about Bennie.

Mocha
Age: 1 1/2 yrs.
Sex: male neutered
Mocha is a darling liver and tan Chihuahua mix, 10 pounds, one and a half years old. This little girl is a love and a half. She is sweet, affectionate, loves to give kisses and a great cuddler, too.
She is getting along well in foster care, playing a lot with her canine foster siblings, and showing herself to be an all around great little dog.
Mocha likes to go for walks, and has done well with older children in the past. Because of her high need for companionship, she will do best in a family that includes someone who is home most of the time.
If you are looking for a loving little companion who thinks you hung the moon, Mocha is your girl.
Please contact her foster mom Wanda for more information about Mocha.

Girl
Age: 2 yrs.
Sex: female spayed
Courtesy Posting for Welcome Waggin Dog Rescue
"YIKES!! Oh no, I am totally embarssed, what are people going to think when they see I don't have a tail"??? "I'm afraid no one will want me now". - - - "Don't worry Girl, when you tell all the nice folks what a wonderful little Beagle you are, how could they not fall in love with you"? - - - "Well I am totally adorable, even without my tail and I can still wag my little stubby one". - - -"Why don't you just list all your outstanding qualties so everyone can see just how charming you are"? - - - "Hmmm, there is certainly a lot to list about myself...
"I'm a dainty 13" and 16 lbs., only 2 yrs. old. I'm very sweet, gentle, affectionate and easy going, not like a lot of those Beagles who like to just run and play non-stop. I'm much to lady like to do such nonsense! Oh, I do love my walks on my leash and rides in the car, but am happy just to be a couch potato and cuddle with my people too. I would adore a relaxed type home where I can gets loads of attention, be the spoiled princess and not be left alone all day long. I'll be waiting with my little tail waggin. Love Girl"
NOTE FROM GIRL'S RESCUE MOM: Girl was rescued from a shelter after her previous family gave her up due to working 11 hrs. a day and not having the time to spend with her. Due to an old injury before we rescued her, her tail was broken, would not heal and our vet decided it would be best just to amputate it. She is fully recovered now and looks cute with her little stubby tail. She would be best suited to a home were someone is home most of the time, or only works part-time. She does ok with other small dogs, a home with one small dog would be fine, that is gentle and a non-alpha. She is ok with cats. With her quiet, gentle disposition she should go to a home with adults, or children 12 or over who are also looking for a more mellow pal. She is spayed, current on shots, wormed, heartworm tested neg. and on prevention. She was a house dog, is house broken and crate-trained.
REQUIIREMENTS FOR ADOPTION: Inside dog. Secure fenced yard. Approved home. We are a private rescue, dogs are shown by appt. only to approved homes. "NO APTS". If you have questions please email. If you would like to apply to adopt Girl, you must call for a PHONE INTERVIEW FIRST. Please leave a clear message. She is located in Orland, which is appx. 1 1/2 hrs. north of Sacramento, off of I-5. Thank you.

Benny # 1
Age: 2 yrs.
Sex: male neutered
Come meet Benny at the Folsom Petsmart Event this Saturday!
Hi, New Friends. My name is Benjamin Lotsaspots, but they call me Benny here. I may be the most unique-looking beagle on this site. Check them all out, then take a good look at me. I think I'm mixed with something, must be to get these crooked legs. Don't let these funny-looking legs of mine fool you, I'm as fast as anyone.
I love my comfort and lots of attention, typical of any beagle. Not much feels better to me than a good belly rub. I'll lie there as long as it takes, probably longer than you want. I love other dogs and even like cats just fine. I don't understand why some beagles are so intrigued with cats. I can take them or leave them, boring critters that they are.
My favorite occupation is trying to escape from your yard, so I will need a very secure fence. Give me the opportunity, and I'm on the run. That's how I ended up in rescue in the first place. I'm now looking for an environment that is more secure so I can stay out of trouble. Being only two years old, I'm always looking for trouble. Please save me from myself and help me to not find it.
Besides a unique appearance, I also have the most unusual bark you've ever heard. Some say it's a bark, others say it's a yelp, others a squeal, it's been called a howl. It is really all of these things and more, a technique of my own that I've worked hard to develop just for your listening pleasure.
I'm a youngster looking for a loving home that is ready for an active guy like me. I will entertain you all day long with my antics, astound you with my voice, and dazzle you with my intelligence. I will also give you all the love a little crooked-legged beagle boy is capable of giving, which is a lot. I am getting along with my foster pals - that's me in the picture with my buddy Roscoe who is also looking for a new home.
If you feel you have the love in your heart to return to me, please contact my friend Suzy to learn more.

Frisco the Wonderdog
Age: 11 yrs.
Sex: male neutered
Frisco was left in a shelter by his family who could no longer care for him. He recently had surgery where a toe and large benign growth were removed but is healing nicely and it doesn’t slow him down a bit. He is very entertaining when he plays with small soft toys on his own, and also likes to play catch (but don’t throw too far!). When he first came to his foster home, he was pretty stiff in his hind legs, particularly after laying down, but is much better with regular walks and playtime. His pictures don’t do him justice - he is a sleek 13 inch, 22 lb., tri-color with a creamy face and big, big brown eyes. He plays well with other dogs, but his hunting instinct comes out around cats, so he probably would not do well in a home with other small pets (cats, rabbits, etc.)
Frisco loves small children and is very gentle and docile when encountering them on outings. In the two weeks he's been in foster care, he has made great strides in house-breaking. He spent 11 years primarily as a yard dog and with encouragement, is learning house manners. He still likes and needs yard time but has adjusted to indoor life very well, particularly at night on the bed. He will greet you at the door every night and tell you all about his day so be ready to be entertained by this sweet boy who is a perfect angel, when he is asleep.
Please contact Fay for more information about playful Frisco.

Reba
Age: 5 yrs.
Sex: female spayed
Hi, New Friends. My name is Reba McEnbeagle. I just arrived in rescue a short time ago and am learning my way around.
I'm what they call a lemon beagle. I have no idea why they call us beagles who don't have any black on us lemons because we are always red and white, we aren't yellow like a lemon. I'm a redhead like Reba McEntire. I also sing like she does. However, I don't get all the publicity that she enjoys. Maybe someday.
I'm five years old and had lived with the same family for my entire life till I was taken to the shelter. When the lady from rescue came to the shelter, she couldn't take her eyes off of me. She stared and stared at me. She would walk away and glance at the other dogs, but she always came back and stared at me some more. All that staring was making me uncomfortable, but I've forgiven her now because she brought me into rescue, and this is where I need to be till I can find a new home.
I'm in a great foster home with a lot of other dogs. I was a little timid at first because it was a new experience for me. It's hard to go from something you know to something you don't know, and that's what I had to do. I follow my foster mom everywhere. She's happy to see this because knows that if I attach myself to her, I can easily attach myself to my new real mom. That's just the way it works.
I'm not food aggressive like most beagles, and I don't even want to be the alpha dog. I'm a very easy girl to have around. I enjoy playing, but I don't want to play all the time. I like my quiet times also. I'm content to sit and watch TV with you, and I won't get into all your stuff like the puppies do. I prefer sleeping in bed with you and will sleep there all night, not bothering you at all. I'm potty trained, not one accident in the house, and I walk well on a leash. My foster mom is very impressed with me. She tells me all the time what a good girl I am.
I do need to lose some weight. That should be accomplished easily because I'm content to eat only what you give me. I don't go looking for more when I'm done. My original family just let me eat whenever I wanted. Now I just have my regular meals, so I know I'll lose this weight very soon.
All I'm missing in my life right now is a family who loves me. If you have a heart full of love to give to a beagle girl like me, please contact my best friend, Suzy, to learn more about me.

Barney
Age: 9 yrs.
Sex: male neutered
Barney is one of our older gentlemen. He's about 9 yrs. old, is healthy and active but past the wild, destructive stage. He's lost weight since he's been at his new foster home and he's learned that he's not allowed to push the other Beagles around. Barney likes to be top dog but instead he's now just an equal member of the pack. He loves going for walks and meeting new people but his favorite pastime is laying in the sun and taking long snoring naps. Barney likes to chase cats, so a cat-free home would be best.
If you'd like to spend some time with a mellow kind of guy, please contact Barbara to learn more about Barney.

Enzo has been ADOPTED
Age: 5 yrs,
Sex: male neutered
I snuck into the beagle rescue through a crack. I’m not even going to pretend to be a beagle mix. I was named after Enzo Ferrari because I’m sleek, fast, and Italian - Italian Greyhound that is with a pinch of Chihuahua thrown in for good measure. My foster Mom went to the shelter to pick up a beagle and from the second she saw me, she couldn’t take her eyes off of me. She bugged the shelter and rescue people until they finally said she could take me home and foster me so I must be something special.
I’ve already got a couple outfits and at 7 lbs. I can use all the help I can get to stay warm. My foster Mom humiliated me by putting a cat collar around my little neck, but it’s got a bell so you can hear me coming. My last family only had me for 2 weeks and said they were allergic – allergic to cuteness. I can’t remember where I was before that. My new family needs to be small dog savvy. It would not be safe for me to be around small children that can get too rough with me. Have you seen my legs? Now that I’m loosening up, I like to romp around and play with my toys. You should see me prance around. I high step. I love to be snuggled in one of my fuzzy baby blankets. At night time, I sleep cuddled up with my foster Mom’s son.
I’m neutered, current on my shots and ready to find my new forever home. I don’t take up much room. To find out more about me, contact my foster Mom, Susan.

Buster (ADOPTION PENDING)
Age: 7 yrs.
Sex: male neutered
Meet Buster, also known as “Buster Brown.” Buster is a 13" beagle, weighs 25 lbs., is cute as a button, has loads of personality and is a rascal. His behavior and energy are more typical of a much younger beagle and he is active most of the day. Unfortunately, Buster was a stray, so we don’t have any background on him.
Buster is very friendly and wants to greet every person and dog that comes his way. Buster is disappointed when people don’t take the time to say hi and pet him. He gets along well with his foster brother, is good with other dogs at the dog park, and is good with kids. Because he barks at the kitty, he hasn’t been given much opportunity to see if he would peacefully coexist with a cat inside the home.
Buster is playful, is good on the leash and loves to go for walks, is good in the kennel in the car, and loves going to the dog park. At home, he’s not fond of being put in the kennel, but quiets down quickly. He prefers snuggling up to someone on the couch and sleeping curled up in bed next to his someone. Buster is good at using the doggy door and is house trained; however, he still occasionally has accidents.
Buster can be possessive with food and toys, so a home with children over 5 would be best. He will be happiest in a forever home that has another dog to play with/keep him company and a stay-at-home parent. He will not be happy if left alone in a kennel all day. Buster needs a family that is active and will give him plenty of exercise, love and attention. Without sufficient activity and attention, he will most likely get into too much beagle mischief.
Please contact Linea for more information about Buster.

Nelly has been ADOPTED!!!
Age: 3 yrs.
Sex: female spayed
Hi my name is Nelly! I also respond to Nel for short. I am a 3 year old research beagle looking for a forever home. I spent the first 3 years of my life in a research facility and am glad to be out in the real world. I currently live with my foster parents and their 3 Beagles. I love my new companions and get along with them well, therefore I will need to be adopted by a family who has flexible hours or has other dog(s) to keep me company. I am still very shy with humans and tend to get a little nervous, so you will have to be very patient with me until I warm up to you. I want to trust, but as I said I have never been shown the love and attention I so deserve. I have paid my debt to society and now want to live a happy life.
I went on my very first walk a few days ago and did great. It is definitely building my confidence and making me feel more comfortable with my surroundings. I do well in a crate and sleep through the night without letting out a peep. Something else that is special about me is that I am debarked, however every now and then my foster dad says I let out a WOOF. To date I haven’t had any accidents in the house, but probably will need some training in that area. If you are looking for a sweet, gentle, loving Beagle who wants to find a forever home, then I am the BEAGLE for you!

Sunflower Beaglebabe
Age: 6 - 8 yrs.
Sex: female spayed
Come meet Sunflower at the Folsom Petsmart Event this Saturday!
Hi, Friends. I'm Ms. Sunflower Beaglebabe, but please call me Sunny. My foster mommy named me Sunflower because that was the biggest flower she knew. I'm the fattest beagle she's ever known or ever hopes to know. You'll only see my "before" pictures here because I'm not ready for the "after" pictures yet. I've lost two pounds so far. I won't tell you how much more I need to lose.
My original family let me eat all I wanted, and I wanted a lot. When I was very sick and so fat that I could hardly move, they took me to the shelter where I was found by the nice people at Beagle Rescue. The shelter wasn't trying very hard to find a home for me because they knew it would be hopeless. Luckily, the Beagle Rescue people didn't think I was a hopeless case, and I ended up here in my foster home where I'm safe and finally know what love is. They don't feed me nearly as much here, but I'm learning to deal with that. I know that I need to lose weight, and I'm determined that I will.
After going to the doctor, it was discovered that I have a thyroid problem, so I'm now taking two pills a day for that. These are not expensive pills. One of my foster sisters also takes these pills, and she is getting to be so thin and beautiful now. I plan to follow in her paw prints. I'll need to go back to the doctor soon because the pills have to be regulated to make sure I get the correct dosage. I'll also need a dental so my pearly whites will be pearly white again. After that I'll be looking for a new home.
Mommy is really going to miss me when I leave here. She says I'm one of the nicest dogs she's ever fostered, and she's fostered a bunch of them. I've never had an accident in the house. That might be what she likes best about me. I just waddle over to the doggie door, force my considerable girth through it, and out I go, then I waddle back in.
When I bark I have a very quiet voice. I don't even sound like a beagle. Mommy thinks I may have been de-barked at one time. She doesn't know if that's the case or if I have so much fat around my throat that I can't bark like a normal beagle. I guess we'll figure that out once I lose weight.
All she knows is that I'm a very nice girl who needs a good home with lots of love and not a lot of food. I'm a 13" beagle, the small kind. You'd never know it now, but that's what I am. Mommy said whoever gets me is going to be amazed at the finished product. I'm not quite sure how I feel about being called a product, but I know what she means. I'm a girl who has so much potential, I just need to find someone willing to work with me.
If you feel you have what it takes to provide a home, diet, exercise, and a lot of love for a beagle girl like me, please contact my foster mom, Suzy. She can tell you more about me. She also told me to make sure I find someone who is willing to accept lots of beagle kisses and doesn't mind if I still look funny when I try to run.

Jeffrey has been ADOPTED
Age: 3 - 4 yrs.
Sex: male neutered
Hi, New Friends. My name is Jeffery Jefferson Beaglejeff. Most people just call me Jeff. I'm the new guy here. My foster mom feels very lucky because she got a good one this time. You all know the issues we beagles can have, but I'm pretty much issue free. It will be the lucky family who adopts me!
I'm 3 - 5 years old so am past the puppy nonsense, but I still have a lot of energy. I may look a little portly in my pictures. My foster mom describes me as "beefy, not fat". I prefer to think of myself as solidly built.
I love people, other dogs, and even cats. I'm very mannerly and am completely potty trained. I would love to list some negative qualities just so I would seem more interesting, but it's not easy to find anything negative in one as perfect as I am. Well, maybe I'm not quite as humble as I should be, but I've worked hard on becoming a very good dog and am proud of myself.
I love the dog park, love going for walks, love car rides. I will bark in the car at times if you're going really slow or are stopped in traffic. I just like to give a shout to those I see. My bark is quieter than the bark of most beagles. I love playing in the snow and walking on the beach, so please take me on your weekend excursions with you. I promise to be good.
All I'm lacking in my life is a good home. That's where you can help me. I'd like to go to a home where my people are around most of the time. I have excellent people skills and want to maintain them. I'd be very lonely by myself. I'm a very affectionate beagle and would like nothing more than to devote the rest of my life to people who will love and care for me. If you feel you are right for me, please contact my friend, Amber, to learn more about me.

Jackson #2 (ADOPTION PENDING)
Age: 3 -4 yrs.
Sex: male neutered
Hi, I’m Jackson and I’m new around here. The rescue saved me from a fate I don’t even want to think about at the shelter. I am loving life here in my new foster home, playing with my beagle siblings, but I want to be top dog of my own house. I’ve already got my shots, been heartworm tested negative and even been neutered. I’m ready to go. I am housebroken and use the doggy door. I even know some commands like “sit” “stay” “go away” and I will sit up for a treat, walk on my back legs and even roll over. I’ll need a forever family that will take me for my daily walks because, being a scent hound, that is the high light of my day. I don’t even care if you have a cat because I just ignore them.
Please contact my friend Amber to learn more about me.

Miracle
Age: 1 1/2 yrs.
Sex: female spayed
Courtesy Posting for Welcome Waggin Dog Rescue
Introducing the one, the only, who is truly a "Miracle"!! If you are looking for a new best friend that is without a doubt one of the sweetest, kindness, gentlest, most loving Beagles in all of Beagle Land, then you are looking at her!!! Miracle adores both adults and children of all ages, her life revolves around people, her world is her people, you won't find a more devoted girl to share your life with. Miracle is absoutely amazing with her intelligence and eagerness to please, she will almost read your mind and respond to commands before you can say them. Miracle is always a happy-go-lucky girl and when she is happy, she has the biggest smile on her adorable face you have ever seen. Talk about the expression - "Grinning from ear to ear". She already knows quite a few basic commands and responds with great enthusiasm to all in anticipation of what she wants more than anything else - a pet, a hug, and praise. She is very well-mannered on a leash, in the car, is crate-trained, does not jump on people. Hardly ever barks. She will just need a refresher course on potty and house training. She has a wonderful time playing with her two large male doggie pals in the yard and gets along famously with both. The vet estimates her age at around 1 1/2 yrs., she is in excellent condition, weighs 32lbs., spayed, current on shots, heartworm tested neg., on prevention and micro-chipped. With her outstanding, gentle disposition she would be fine in a family with any age children. Miracle would shine in a home as the only dog, so she can soak up all the attention. As is the case with many Beagles, she will require a high, solid, secure fenced yard and at least one family member who works from home. "No exceptions please" !!!
Requirements for adoption: Inside dog as part of the family. Approved home. Adoption fee. Shown by appt. only to approved home. If you have questions, please email. If you would like to apply to adopt this very special girl, you must call for a PHONE INTERVIEW FIRST !! She is located in Orland, which is appx. 11/2 hrs., north of Sacramento, off of I-5. Thank you.

Benji
Age: 3 - 4 yrs.
Sex: male neutered
Benji is very friendly, loving, and gets along very well with other dogs. He does not mind the cats in his home and will not chase them. He would do best with another canine playmate as he likes to play and gets lonely when he's by himself, and he will make a great addition to any family. He loves attention, the more the merrier, and loves being with his foster parents.
Benji is very easy going and crate trained and sleeps in a crate nightly. He will eagerly come when called and loves affection and having his ears scratched. Like all beagles, Benji will need a family who is mindful of open doors and secure backyards as he will take off on a beagle adventure if allowed the freedom to do so. Benji is a great all around beagle boy and he is now looking for a family to call all his own.
Please contact his foster mom CJ if you would like to welcome Benji into your home.

Roscoe
Age: 10 yrs.
Sex: male neutered
Hi, Friends. I'm Roscoe McBeagle, and I want to be your new best friend. I have a lot to offer in the friendship department. I'm an older guy, but I still have a lot of energy. I love playing with other dogs, love going for walks, and most of all I love my people. Being an older guy, I know what I want, and what I want is to devote my life to you.
Why is it that people want to adopt a younger dog? Think about it, please. Younger dogs want to chew all your belongings. They will jump up on you when you least expect it. They'll interrupt you when you're talking. You can't tell them anything because they think they already know all there is to know. We older dogs have all the puppy nonsense behind us. Just like older people, we are more stable, we have more common sense, we've learned a lot and have grown wise over the years. It seems obvious to me that an older dog is a much better choice. In my case, I've even retained my good looks. I'm often mistaken for a dog half my age. That comes from a lifetime of not smoking, living right, eating right, and getting plenty of exercise.
As you can see, I'm a beautiful tri-color beagle, the best kind. That's me in the picture below on the right, and that's my friend Benny who is also looking for a new home. I haven't allowed myself to gain too much weight. Therefore, I'm more active than you'd expect a guy my age to be. I've been told that I have the perfect beagle body. I don't know if I'd go so far as to say that. It's just what people tell me, and who am I to argue?
I'm a calm dog who is a long ways from the nursing home or even assisted living. If that matches your description, and you have the love in your heart to devote to an older guy like me, please contact Eva to learn more. I'm a happy guy just waiting to hear from you.
